NVのデビュー作『BINASU』の日本盤にボーナス・トラックとして収録されているDeradoorianとの共演曲「Konicchiwaa」がRed Bull Music AcademyのSoundCloudにて公開されました！（NVとDeradoorianは共にRBMAの同窓生）
NVは2014年のRBMA主催のイベント「Lost in Karaoke」に出演も果たしております。

One of our favorite releases so far this year has been Russian pop experimentalist and Academy alumna NV’s exquisite ‘Binasu’ album, which came out on Orange Milk Records in February. Inspired by the adventurous spirit of ’80s Japanese synth pop, NV demonstrated her equal knack for catchy melodies and intricate arrangements.

Given her felicitous channeling of the likes of YMO and Mariah, it is only right that NV is now releasing a special Japanese CD version of her album. “Konicchiwaa” is one of the two exclusive tracks contained on this version and it features fellow RBMA alumna Deradoorian, who just wrapped up a stint as studio team member at the Montréal Academy.

“It’s a true collab track,” NV says. “We were playing synths together, Angel came up with a bass line and a solo, I made an arpeggiator and other synths and I also asked her to play guitar randomly. In the end I just cut that and pitched it, turning it into a solo. There’s also lots of laughter and random voices saying greetings in different languages, and in the end we decided to make “konichiwa” the main greeting and turn it into the chorus. I think Angel’s voice is perfect. I could never do something like that. She sounds like a real Japanese girl!”

ロシアはモスクワの女性アーティスト、Kate Shilonosovaによるソロ・プロジェクト、NVのデビュー・アルバム。自らのフェイヴァリットにLaurie AndersonやTears For Fearsに加えて、細野晴臣や坂本龍一の名前もあげ、2014年にはRed Bull Music Academyの「Lost In Karaoke」で来日も果たしている彼女は大の親日家であり、アルバム・タイトルもビーナスをローマ字表現にした『BINASU』。そして楽曲のタイトルにも随所に日本のエッセンスが鏤められていることがわかる。

ほのかにオリエンタル且つトライバルなムードも漂うパーカッシヴでリズミカルなビートを生成し、シンセを浮遊＆レイヤードしつつ、独自のユニークでキュート且つふくよかなヴォーカルを注ぎ多彩な世界を描き出す。影響を受けたという日本の80’sアート・ポップや現代シンセウェイヴ的要素を見事に昇華し、時にアンビエント〜ミニマル〜ノイジーな展開をみせつつも、親しみやすく中毒性のあるメロディとハーモニー、コーラスを駆使して完成させたジョイフルでエモーショナルなシンセ・ポップ冒険作。

ロシア発というのも興味深いが、日本への愛着とトレンドが彼女流の手法で見事にミックスされた奇妙ながらクセになる感覚はファンタスティックで唯一無二の魅力を放っている。

Through infectious harmony and melody, Russian artist Kate Shilonosova makes joyful and adventurous pop music. It is also patient, playful, deceptively simple but masterfully constructed, at times charming and bittersweet. Some points of influence include a pink to blue gradient Japanese 80s mallet-pop feeling and synth-wave tones, which Kate absorbs perfectly into her own bold musical identity.

KATE NV：
プロデューサー／DJ／演奏家／ヴォーカリスト、ケイト・シロノソヴァによるソロ・プロジェクト。元々はSonic YouthやDinosaur Jr.などに影響を受けたオルタナティヴ・ロック〜ポストパンク・バンド、Glintshakeのヴォーカルとして活動。また、同時に20世紀のクラシカルなミュージシャン達とCornelius Cardewのアイデアとアヴァンギャルドなコンポーズを再構築するMoscow Scratch Orchestraのメンバーでもある。それらと平行してソロとしてNVを始動させ、2014年にジャパニーズ・ポップスやニュー・ジャック・スウィング、90’s R&Bなどの影響を感じさせるEP『Pink Jungle』を発表し注目を集め、同年、Red Bull Music Academy Tokyoで初来日を果たす。2016年に待望のソロ・デビュー・フル・アルバム『Binasu』を2016年にGiant ClawとSeth Graham主宰の重要レーベル、Orange Milkからファースト・アルバム『BINASU』をリリース。各所で絶賛され、世界各国をライヴで飛び回る。その才能はエクスペリメンタル・ミュージック・シーンの最先鋭レーベルであるブリルックリンのRVNG Intl.の目にとまり、契約を果たし、2018年にセカンド・アルバム『для FOR』をリリースした。その後初の単独来日ツアーを成功させ、収録曲「вас YOU」は細野晴臣のラジオで２度に渡りプレイするなど、日本でも話題となり、浜離宮恩賜庭園で開催された花紅柳緑（RED BULL MUSIC FESTIVAL TOKYO 2019）への出演も果たした。2020年には待望のサード・アルバムを『Room for the Moon』を引き続きRVNG Intl.からリリース。先行シングル「Sayonara」はPitchforkのベスト・ニュー・トラックに選出され、”The 100 Best Songs of 2020″にもランクインするなど、さらなる評価を高めた。そして2022年に現時点での最新作である『WOW』をRVNG Intl.から発表。従来の自身の曲の形式を華麗に捨て去り、音楽的な時間の経験を恍惚とした断片に分解し、さらなる高みへと到達した圧巻の快作で、さらに多くのリスナーを獲得した。
