Lori Scacco

Lori ScaccoはかつてToo Pureから作品をリリースしていたシューゲイザー〜ドリーム・ポップ系バンド、Seelyのピアニスト/ギタリストをつとめていた女性アーティスト。2004年ににソロ・デビュー・アルバム『Circles』発表。リリース時、HeftyオーナーJohn Hughesをして、”my favorite female instrumentalist”と言わしめた。

現在はSavath y SavalasのメンバーであるEva Puyuelo Munsとのデュオ、Stormsとして活動し、2010年にファースト・フル・アルバム『Lay Your Sea Coat Aside』をリリース。またEvaと同じくSavath y SavalasのメンバーであるHelado Negroのライヴ時のバンド・メンバーとしても活動している。2014年には久しぶりのリリースとなるシングル『Colores (Para Lole Pt.2)』をデジタル・リリースし、patten(WARP)のリミックスも含む7インチもリリースした。

2014年に『Circles』がリリース10周年を記念し、ボーナス・トラックを加えCD再発され、ロングセラーとなり、2018年遂に14年ぶりとなるセカンド・アルバムを完成させた。

Lori Scacco is a musician, composer and sound artist based in New York City. Co-founder and former guitarist of Seely, the first American band on UK imprint Too Pure, she released her first solo recording, Circles, on Prefuse 73’s Eastern Developments label. Her music has since appeared on No Pain in Pop, Fire Records UK, dublab, and the Japanese labels Flau, Home Normal, and Plancha / Art Union. She has been a performing member of Savath + Savalas and Helado Negro and is currently one half of Storms with Eva Puyuelo (Savath + Savalas). Through her site-specific installations Scacco investigates the tactile and experiential, using micro-sound, melody, and heightened acoustic resonance to subvert traditional musical tropes within a physical space. Her works have been presented by Harvestworks, Regina Rex, Chashama Gallery, and the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts.
